About Vulnerable Populations

Vulnerable populations are populations that are at a higher risk for the services and facilities of a community as a result of the barriers they experience due to diminished social, economic, political and environmental resources.

Vulnerable populations include the economically disadvantaged, racial and ethnic minorities, women, the uninsured, low-income children, the elderly, the homeless, and those with chronic health conditions.
